Studies have found that 44 percent of small businesses in the United States do not have a website. Often these businesses once had a website, but, lacking the time or funds to maintain it, they abandoned it. Of companies that have a website, nine out of 10 are unhappy with the site.

This comes at a time when 85 percent of people use the web to find local businesses, according to a survey by Local Consumer Review. Traditional ways of locating businesses, like Yellow Pages, direct mail, newspaper advertising and radio, are being used less. If a company wants business customers need to be able to find it through the Web, via search engines.
If you don’t have a website or are unhappy with its effectiveness, there are things you can do that wont break the budget or keep you up after hours.

picture-22If you are a vending company and you do not have a website you are missing out on a huge opportunity to gain new accounts.

When a facility manager decides it is time to replace his current vending service where do you think they go to? Five years ago they probably picked up the yellow pages. Now they go to google or yahoo and search for a local vending company online.

When they search you want your website to come up on the first page. (Search Engine Optimization) When the prospective customer clicks on your website listing you want your website to give the prospective customer confidence that they need to call you because you have everything they are looking for. (Website Conversion)

I have customers all across America that have called me to buy vending postcards or vending brochures and were not interested in a website at all. I explained to them the new way customers are looking for products and services. Some of them stepped up and took a website and now their websites are raking in customers for them. I have one customer in Memphis who told me his vending website he purchased from VendCentral was the best thing he has every done for his company. (www.pfsmemphis.com)

When building a website for your vending company you need to take a couple of things into consideration. You need to make sure when building your site that you think about how you are going to make it come up on the search engines. If you use flash technology to build your website it might look pretty cool but it more than likely will not come up on google or yahoo because these search engines cannot read flash. Search engines need to read text. Flash technology is recognized by the search engines as an image.

You also need to make sure it looks professional. A potential customer will make a decision on your company based on your website. If you have spent $300 to build your site and it looks old and not very professional then that potential manufacturing company with 400 employees might decide to go somewhere else and not call you.
